Anthony Wayne died.

General “Mad” Anthony Wayne, whose victory at the Battle of Fallen Timbers in August 1794 that forced the British to evacuate Detroit, died in Erie, Pennsylvania.  Also, Wayne County was named for General Anthony Wayne.
