I am a sucker for just about anything in Irish Hills, but still my favorite is up in the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. Lake Michigan is so deep blue and beautiful.

As much as I love Sleeping Bear, the public beaches in Traverse City on the bay are fantastic, and the water isn’t as chilly as Lake Michigan.

And don’t forget about Cleanwater Beach…easily the best party beach in the state.

South Beach in South Haven…lighthouse, sunsets, close to town

I like the west side beaches myself. Muskegun has lots of fantastic sand, but I’d say the most beautiful beaches are in the Sleeping Bear/Traverse City area.
